What’s New with the FedRAMP Marketplace
The FedRAMP Marketplace has been redesigned to make it easier to find and evaluate authorized cloud services. Here’s what’s changed and how to get started.
Recent Improvements
Enhanced search, filtering, and sort
- Marketplace Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Keyword search prompts more relevant cloud service offering results, including search by FedRAMP ID.
- Dedicated sort menu: New sorting menu lets you organize results by number of authorizations, name, or how long it has been listed on the marketplace.
- Clearer categories: Filter categories are expanded by default, including a new “By Government, For Government” category for government-developed solutions and “Authorization Type” to distinguish between 20x and Rev5 offerings.
- See result numbers as you filter: Each filter option shows how many services match before you click.
Fresh Look and Feel
- Updated design: Branding is now consistent with the FedRAMP.gov website’s new signature purple and orange colorway.
- One-click copying: New copy to clipboard buttons for Package IDs, UEI numbers, and email addresses
- Two viewing options: Switch between card view (new style) and table view (original style).
- New web address: Now located at fedramp.gov/marketplace (old links will redirect automatically).
Mobile Responsive Design
- Responsive layouts: Layouts adapt to different screen sizes, and are optimized for desktops, tablets, and phones.
- Touch-friendly: Optimized navigation, filtering, and buttons for tablet and mobile.
Modernized Result Exports
- Search URL sync: Filters, search queries, sort order, and viewing mode now update the URL, preserving the state of search.
- Filtered results export: Export the services that match your search criteria.
- JSON export option: For technical users who need machine-readable data.
- Comprehensive CSV: CSV exports include more data columns.
Improved Accessibility
- Screen-reader friendly: Better support for assistive technologies by defining proper aria-labels and landmark regions.
- Keyboard Navigation: Incorporated skip links and proper tab order.
- Helpful Tooltips: Hover over terms for instant definitions instead of requiring a click and having a pop-up.
Organized Information Architecture
- Product pages now have three tabs: Overview, Authorization Details, and Dependent Products
- Assessor pages now have two tabs: Overview and Clients
- Interactive tables: Supports pagination and has sortable columns
Commitment to User Experience
- “Give Feedback” Button: New side button for continued user feedback that will be reviewed regularly.
What’s No Longer Available
- Timeline View: Removed Authorization Status timeline and opted for a single point-in-time date when a particular stage was reached.
- Assessor Filtering: Browse through assessors on the dedicated Assessors tab.
- Marketplace hero section: Users go straight to the marketplace search.
